Explore MFB Digitalisation Financing

Hungarian companies can access several forms of public or EU-backed support for digital transformation. Depending on the programme, support may take the form of a non-repayable grant, a 0% financing product, or a blended structure combining financing with a grant component. The right route depends on company size, location, digital maturity and the planned investment.

Three common funding pathways

1. Direct grant application

The company applies as the beneficiary, includes its ERP or digitalisation project in the application, and follows the procurement and evidence requirements of the specific call.

Best suited to programmes offering non-repayable support for software, digital services, implementation, training or related IT investment.

2. Accredited platform / supplier route

Some digitalisation calls use an accredited supplier and product catalogue. The applicant first defines its development needs, completes the required digital assessment and requests quotations through the designated platform.

Particularly relevant to selected DIMOP Plusz calls supported by the MKIK Vállalkozz Digitálisan! platform.

3. 0% or blended financing

The company applies for subsidised financing and uses the approved funding for eligible digitalisation investments. Some programmes combine a 0% loan with a non-repayable component.

Often more suitable for larger ERP, data, AI, Industry 4.0 or manufacturing-transformation projects.

Typical application journey

  1. Check eligibility— Confirm company size, project location, operating history, employee requirements and the digital-intensity criteria of the relevant programme.
  2. Assess digital maturity— Several Hungarian digitalisation schemes link funding to a measurable improvement in digital intensity. A digital assessment and, for some calls, a Digital Development Concept (DFK) may be required.
  3. Define the investment— Set out the business need and scope: for example ERP, CRM, cloud, AI, data analytics, e-invoicing, cybersecurity, collaboration tools or Industry 4.0 solutions.
  4. Match the project with a funding programme— Compare the planned budget, company profile and investment type with the currently available grant or financing schemes.
  5. Prepare quotations and application materials— Collect the required technical scope, supplier quotation, implementation plan and other supporting documentation. Where a designated platform applies, follow its quotation and catalogue process.
  6. Submit the application— Applications are submitted by the beneficiary through the channel specified in the official call, such as the national grant portal, the MKIK digitalisation platform or the MFB Pont Plusz network.
  7. Procure and implement after approval— After approval, complete procurement, contracting, implementation, invoicing and reporting in accordance with the programme rules.

What to prepare before applying

  • Basic company information and evidence of SME status, where applicable.
  • Planned project location and implementation period.
  • Current digital maturity / digital-intensity information.
  • A clear description of the business problem and target digital capabilities.
  • Indicative budget split between software, services, training, infrastructure and other eligible items.
  • Supplier quotation(s) and technical scope where required by the call.
  • Own-funds and financing plan.
  • Any required Digital Development Concept (DFK), procurement evidence or platform-generated quotation.
